Well, I have ordered one sink and faucet from ebay (Vessel sink). They have arrived, great price, and certainly look like they will do the job!!!
Right now though, I am pondering having to spend a ton of money on tile! I am trying to see what the minimum amounts I can ship directly from china, as I will need a probably a few hundred square feet of glass mosaic tile (no, the house will not look like the bottom of a pool!!). I am actually contemplating getting a full 20′ container from China with everything I need, then ebaying the remainder of the container once I am done. Hopefully I can do this and at least break even on the equipment I need!!
Bathtubs, bathtubs, bathtubs!! Why are they so expensive!! The ones on Ebay are a pretty good price, but once you add shipping (at about $600 to ship) you are almost at a thousand-dollar tub. Mind you, they are pretty cool, but over 600 to ship?? That is just wrong (even though I may have to swallow it!!).. These tubs are less than 300 in china, and yes, you do have to order several, and yes, shipping from china is pretty expensive (about 3k from china to Miami port). But I still think people are simply making their money on “shipping and handling” instead of the actual product. I would much rather pay a higher price for the item and have a reasonable shipping cost, even though it may end up being the same. I had a crated motorcycle shipped to me from North Georgia to Orlando for $100.00. I can tell you, that weighed a LOT more than a 150# tub, and probably about the same size. 25 tubs in a 20′ container at 250 per tub, plus shipping is abou$370 per tub. Charging $800 per tub delivered?? Markup seems a bit steep. I wish I could do 100% profit on my inventory on something that large! Electronic equipment is less than 8% or so!!, 10 to 20% would be pretty good, yes, you have to pay rent, and electric, and employees, etc… but it still seems like a lot… Enough ranting… I’ll sill have to end up buying the stupid tub….
still looking for flooring for 2nd floor…
I think upstairs bar will be 3/4″ ply with gloss white laminate, maybe covered in glass (not sure yet, as quotes are about $350 to cover entire bar in glass)… I’ll see….
